Kenya has recorded 551 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of confirmed cases in the country to 84,168.
In a statement to newsrooms, Health Ministry CAS Rashid Aman said the new cases were recorded from 4,675 samples tested under the same period.
525 are Kenyans while 26 are foreigners.
Out of the new cases, 301 were men and 250 were women.
The youngest case is seven-day-old infant and the oldest is aged 100.
266 more patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 55,610.
Of the new discharges, 60 were discharged from various hospitals across the country and 206 from the home-based care programme.
Unfortunately, 5 patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities, to 1,474.
In terms of distribution, Nairobi 212, Kilifi 39, Mombasa 35,Nyeri 33, Embu 30, Nandi 25, Machakos 22, Siaya 21, Kajiado 19,Kiambu 18, Lamu 16, Nyandarua 14, Turkana 11, Uasin Gishu 8, Taita Taveta 7, Kisumu 7 Meru 6.
Garissa 6, Kwale 5, Samburu 5, Murang’a 3, Mandera 2, Busia, Laikipia, Kakamega, Wajir, Tharaka Nithi recorded 1 case each.
