Kapsabet Boys principal pledges to sponsor bright Baringo boy who nearly repeated class 8

Kapsabet Boys High School principal Kipchumba Maiyo has pledged to pay Yusuf Aker’s school fees for the next 4 yrs.

Aker had earned a place at the school after scoring 380 in the 2019 KCPE exam but had been forced to repeat Class 8 after failing to raise fees required to join Form One.

The news came minutes after the story was aired on 9pm news, Thursday, January 16 on Citizen TV.

” The principal of Kapsabet Boys has pledged to take pay Yusuf Aker’s school fees for the next four years,” announced Yvonne Okwara before taking a commercial break.

Tangulbei Primary School headteacher James Merinyang expressed shock at seeing the top candidate in class last week despite having topped the entire school in the national exam.

The young man who dreams of becoming a doctor was the top candidate at his school.

Aker currently lives with his grandmother, 82-year-old Chepisogei Lotegu after his father and nine other siblings were killed in a banditry attack on the border of Pokot and Samburu when he was just 3 years old.
