Kakamega police officer blasts seniors for assigning her duties with no allowances (video)

A female Administration Police (AP) officer has decried frustration by her seniors in the service.

The unidentified officer based in Kakamega has accused he seniors of discriminating her in allocation of duties where she could earn allowances.

According to the officer, she joined the service in 2001 and was transferred to Kakamega county in 2009 where it has been a roller coaster of frustrations from his seniors.

The officer in the rank of a sergeant  claimed she was being frustrated because her husband was also a police officer and that she hailed from a minority Turkana community.

“I am tired of frustration and intimidation, why can’t my bosses do justice. I ready to be fired. why can’t they assign me areas where I can get money like other officers?” she posed.

She further claimed her frustration stemmed from the fact she had refused to bribe her seniors so she could be allocated duties that would see her earn an extra coin.

On Wednesday when she spoke to press, the officer cited an incident where she was removed from a lucrative container guard duty after four days and another officer assigned the task.

“I want everyone to hear including my bosses in Nairobi, I want Matiang’i to hear, I am not afraid of being sacked but I want justice to prevail.

I have been in this service for long and my seniors as well as my juniors can attest that I have never done anything wrong or wronged anyone.

I just want them to come out and explain why they are discriminating against me.

Why have they run away? I wanted to address the media before them,” she lamented.

Police assigned escort duties, guard duties at Railways, Embassies, Huduma Centres, County Assemblies, Praliament earn allowances in addition to their salary.

Police standing orders prohibits junior police officers from addressing the press. The procedure is to channel grievances to superiors who can then find an amicable solution to the problem.
