A 136-year-old man shared his secret to living a long life in a video that has elicited mixed reactions on social media.
In a video dated Thursday, July 27, Julius Wahavenyondu Gatonga said God's favour and strict adherence to indigenous food has enabled him to live long.
"He has been eating indigenous foods, not the normal food people eat like rice. His diet mostly has bananas and potatoes, He has always advised us to eat like him so as to live till his age," Gatonga's son said.

From the video, the man who hails from Mukurweini, Nyeri County could be seen walking around without assistance despite his old age.
His family, however, said he cannot hear well as someone has to talk loudly for him to hear.
Gatonga said his first job was a house boy working for an Indian family where he was paid KSh 3 monthly.
He added that the wage enabled him to cater for his family at the time.
He later moved to the East African Railways and which later changed to Kenya Railways until his retirement and started coffee farming thereafter.
Gatonga also warned the youth against consuming illicit brew but instead engage in meaningful activities.
