Hussein Mohamed, the hard-nosed news anchor, has called it a day at Citizen TV.

The news anchor known for hard-hitting questions regarding governance announced Friday, September 4, that he was leaving the station to concentrate on other matters.

“I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon,” he said.

Sources say Mohamed will be leaving Citizen TV at the end of October. He started off as a political reporter and rose through the ranks to anchor prime news at the station which commands the largest viewership.

The political news anchor has hosted top leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga among others.

His no-nonsense approach when interviewing political leaders endeared him to million of Kenyans who came to regard him as bulwark of good journalism.
