According to a report by the officers from Magunga Police Station, they were tipped that the bar operated past curfew hours and it was when they decided to get there

Upon reaching at the bar, two attendants and over 10 revellers were inside the bar and blocked entry for the officers.

The officers were then forced to knock down the door.

Achieng and her fellow attendant were then asked to pack crates of alcohol which would be used as evidence in court.

Police commander Anthony Njiru confirmed the incident revealing that Achieng had packed some crates before collapsing.

“The waitresses had already filled up the first crate and were working on the second one when Achieng collapsed and was rushed to St Camilla’s hospital in Sori where she was pronounced dead on arrival.”

The rest of the revellers were arrested and are detained at the Mugunga police station.
