Radio Jambo presenter Gidi Gidi is currently in self-isolation after developing flu symptoms.

Taking to social media, the radio host said he has been unwell since Friday, and his doctor advised him to undergo a COVID-19 test.

He noted that he got tested yesterday, Monday, July 20 and he is awaiting his results.

“To my Radio and Online fans, Just to let you know that I have been feeling unwell since Friday with flu symptoms. The Doctor advised that i should take COVID-19 test first, which I did yesterday and waiting for the results,” he said in part.

He concluded by thanking his fans for the support, adding that he is feeling much better even as he isolates.

“I am taking a rest in self isolation but feeling way much better today. Thanks for the support and hope to engage with you soon on air,” added Gidi.

This came hours after his KBC counterpart Bonnie Musambi revealed that he contracted, but healed from the novel coronavirus.

Taking to social media, Musambi said he got tested for the deadly virus about three weeks ago, however, after defeating the symptoms.

He further noted that his family is safe.

“I tested positive for COVID-19 but now am healed. I got the disease more than three weeks ago but tested after defeating the symptoms. However, I isolated myself, followed my doctor’s instructions and now am well. My family is well and am glad to be back on my feet,” reads part of his post.

The media personality then warned Kenyans against dismissing the virus as a hoax, insisting that COVID-19 is real.

“I will be taking a re-test later this week and will post the results. At some point an ambulance came for me but I declined.Covid-19 is real. Do everything to avoid it.All Glory to God! I will live for him,” he added.
