Reports indicate Echesa was arrested at his Nairobi home on the morning of Thursday, February 13 over suspected fraud.
Echesa was driven to the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.

DCI Director George Kinoti said the former CS is being investigated on fraudulent arms deal.
“He is under arrest; he is being investigated over fraud involving the purchase of arms. Our officers are questioning him. It’s a fraud involving several other suspects including foreigners,” Kinoti told Capital FM News.
