A matatu driver who was captured in a viral video hanging from the drivers door while driving has been arrested and charged.

The driver was arrested and presented before a Naivasha court on Friday, October 16 where he was charged with endangering lives, National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) confirmed.

According to NTSA, the middle aged driver was arrested after presenting himself at NTSA offices in Naivasha where he had been summoned.

“The driver of this vehicle was arrested after presenting himself to NTSA Head Office where had been summoned. The suspect was arraigned at a Naivasha court today,” NTSA said.

The viral video showed the young driver hanging from the driver’s door while swinging his legs while as the car moved at a high speed.

The boy who was dressed in a grey T-shirt and a black pair of trouser was doing the stunt as a passenger in an approaching vehicle recorded him while other passengers onboard cheered him up.

The approaching vehicle passed and the boy took back his position at the wheel.
