Deputy President William Ruto has appealed to Kenyans to follow the precautionary directives issued by the Ministry of Health to stop the spread of coronavirus.

On Friday, March 13, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced a woman who had returned from US via London had tested positive for COVID-19.

DP Ruto called on Kenyans to be watchful saying the disease is now a global pandemic.

” Let everyone of us, wherever we are follow the guidelines given by the government so we can stop spread of the coronavirus. Let everyone play our part to ensure the situation doesn’t go out of hand,” DP Ruto said.

He further said the government had put measures in place to ensure any arising situation is contained.

Earlier in the day, Kagwe invoked the Public Health Act spelling out measures by government to contain the spread of the virus after a 27-year-old Kenyan woman tested positive for COVID-19.
