Tanzanian super star and WCB CEO Diamond Platnumz has for the first time spoken on joining politics.

Speaking during a recent interview with Wasafi FM, the singer stated that he has never envisioned himself as a politician even once.

“Kiukweli mimi bado sijajiona kwenye siasa,” he said.

The father of four said that he still has a lot to achieve when it comes to developing then music industry in Tanzania.

In the meantime, Diamond said that he will support political leaders who will have brought change to the people of Tanzania and kept their promises.

“Mimi bado nina deni kwenye muziki , bado nahitaji kuleta maendeleo zaidi kwenye Muziki. Nitaendelea kuwaunga mkono watu waliongia kwenye siasa ninaoona wanafaa,” stated Diamond.

This came months after his manager Babu Tale joined politics and elected as Morogoro Mashariki Constituency MP under Tanzania’s ruling party ticket, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Following his election, Diamond congratulated him, further promising to help him serve the people of Morogoro Mashariki and Tanzania at large.

“Babu Tale sina mshaka juu ya uongozi wako, kwa sababu naamini kama uliweza kuniongoza mimi wasafi na wasanii mbalimbali walotutangulia na wote kufanya vyema tena kwa kiwango kikubwa, basi naamini kupitia wewe Morogoro vijinini kusini mashariki itakuwa salama mikononi mwako.

“Nami pamoja na familia nzima ya wasafi tuko nyuma yako kuhakikisha kuwa tunakusaidia kwa hali na mali kuleta maendeleo Morogoro vijijini kusini mashariki na kwa pamoja kumsaidia Mh raisi Dr. John Pombe Magufuli kuijenga Tanzania ya sasa,” wrote Diamond.
