DCI denies summoning King Kaka, claims rapper after publicity

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday, December 17 downplayed summon claims by rapper Kennedy Ombima aka King Kaka over his lyrical poem Wajinga Nyinyi.

This is after the rapper raised a storm on social media after claiming he had been summoned.

In a message published on Twitter, the DCI instead termed Kaka’s message as a stunt attract media attention.

“We wish to condemn strongly false information being peddled through social media to the effect that one Kennedy Ombima @RabbitTheKing has been summoned. Nobody from @DCI_Kenya has summoned him,” read the tweet.

“Anybody wishing for publicity should be warned to desist from using the @DCI_Kenya as platform in seeking media attention,” added the DCI.

King Kaka arrived at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu road hours later in the afternoon accompanied by his wife Nana Awiti, two lawyers, Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot and activist Boniface Mwangi.

The latest development comes a day after Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru threatened to sue the rapper for defamation.
