Kenya has recorded 123 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of confirmed cases in the country to 98,555.

In a statement to newsrooms, Health Ministry CS Mutahi Kagwe said the new cases were recorded from 4,948 samples tested under the same period.

The total number of samples tested in the country is 1,102,595.

Out of the new cases, 111 are Kenyans while 12 are foreigners.

Of the new cases, the youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 85.


412 more patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 81,667.

Of the new discharges, 34 were discharged from various hospitals across the country and 378 from the home-based care programme.

Unfortunately, four patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities, to 1,720.
