Controversial singer Esther Akoth, alias Akothee has responded to allegations raised by her sister Cebbie Nyasego regarding her wealth and charity work.

In screenshots shared by gossip blogger Edgar Obare, Akothee’s sister claimed the singer was struggling, and had no money to even pay for her children’s school fees.

Taking to social media, Akothee said she put her Akothee Foundation on hold to concentrate on her life and raising her kids.

“When people wanted to own my life and jump onto my success, using Akothee Foundation that is hardly a year old, with no sponsors or donors as a way of hurting me!

“I had to put it on hold and concentrate on my life and my children! It hurts when you do things innocently and people feel entitled,” Akothee wrote.

The singer further said her relatives hardly love her, since she stopped dishing out free cash to them.

She said her family was unaware of her wealth and had no idea of who was handling her finances.

“Since I stopped dishing out money and attending to family problems apart from my parents and grandparents, I am hardly loved. My family has no idea of my wealth nor my whereabouts, even if I die today, they have no idea of whom is handling my will or bill’s, they are guests in my life.

“I respect and love my family very much and the only way to keep the relationship is to love them from afar since I have no option but to love them,” Akothee said.

This came two weeks after Akothee shut down operations at her foundation saying she was taking a break from solving everyone’s problem.
