Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi was on Monday morning forced to adjourn the case involving Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino after some of the MPs supporters went rowdy in court corridors.
The noise from the members of the public made it difficult for proceedings to go on.
“We cannot proceed with this hearing given the noise from the corridors. Now I ask police to escort those making noise out of the court,” said Andayi.
Police immediately heeded the order and swung into action and cleared the court corridors.
The magistrate asked Prosecutor Jacob Ondari who was making his submissions to await calm to resume in court.
Earlier, Ondari had asked the court to deny Owino bond, on grounds relatives of of DJ Odhiambo Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve, whom he is accused of shooting, said he is in critical condition.
Also, the family expressed fears that the MP will interfere with witnesses once released on bond.
However, Owino’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta asked the MP to release the MP on court on on account he had right to bond like any accused person.
