“The Defence Council approved secondment to Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) of the undermentioned general/senior/ officers,” read the document of secondment by Defence Council Secretary, Dr Ibrahim Mohamed.

The seconded senior officers are; Brigadier F, Laura, Major J. V. Mbithi, Major A. N. Nyakundi and Major J. K. Njoroge from the army forces and Maj Gen Mohamed Badi, who is the NMS director general, Colonel J. K. Biomdo and Major A. L. Musoma from the air force.

The council chaired by the Defence Cabinet secretary is responsible for the overall policy, control, and supervision of the Kenya Defence Forces and also performing any other functions as directed by the national legislation.

This comes days after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko threatened to terminate an agreement between City Hall and the national government citing frustrations in the implementation of the deal.

“I am starting the process of terminating the [deed], just like any other ordinary contract. I will personally go to court to have it terminated,” he said.

Sonko further claimed he was not given enough time to read the draft of the deal that he and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa signed at State House.

“I was just told it is a good thing on service delivery for the people of Nairobi as I deal with my court cases. And since I love the people, I had to accept [the deal] even without going through the document. I did not know [things]would turn against us,” he lamented.
