South Sudanese model and self-styled ‘bisexual’  Aweng Chuol got married to her fiancé Alexis weeks after the couple got engaged.

Aweng, a fierce LGBT advocate who was born in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Turkana and moved to Australia aged 7, shared pictures from the wedding on social media to announce their marriage.

The 21-year-old New York-based model known among for her eyes that change colour in different climate is a law student when she is not walking the runways.

Aweng took to Twitter and Instagram on Friday, December 13 to share a photograph of herself and her wife and captioned it:

 ‘Married my best friend today. I am. GEEKED’

She further posted:

“We got married. Go soft. We had three people in the room with us. And four people at the entire ceremony. It was for us. But wanted to share my happiness with y’all.”

Aweng, a staunch LGBT advocate has in a past interview said her parents never castigated her for being bisexual.

“I am part of various LGBT communities, being bisexual. I don’t have a “coming out” story. When I chose to bring my girlfriend home, I literally said: “Mum, this is my girlfriend, wassup”. It was never a big deal.” She told an online publication in past interview.
