It is not every day that one gets a chance to be served food by the deputy president.
And that was the case for the pupils of Mukarara Primary School in Dagoretti South who were excited when Deputy President William Ruto visited their school and served them lunch.
The DP visited the school on invitation of area MP John Kiarie who boasts close ties with the deputy president.
In a video shared online by his staunch followers, DP Ruto is seen in apron, scooping and serving rice to the excited children.
The second-in-command was flanked by Johnson Sakaja who is eying to be Nairobi governor.
After doing a reasonable part of the serving, the DP is seen joining a queue to be served rice and beans together with the pupils.
At one time, the second-in-command chides MP Kiarie not to cut through the queue.
He then approaches the serving table where he is serves with one serving of rice and beans, respectively.
It has emerged the DP served the food in a school feeding program in the constituency dubbed Food for Education.
The videos have elicited mixed reactions from the netizens, with many hailing the DP for his humility.
