Ranalo Foods restaurant owner William Osewe opened up on his shooting incident at Garden City Estate in 2016.
Speaking recently, the businessman noted that ever since the incident, his life has never been the same again, noting that he has suffered emotional, physical and financial losses as a result of the incident.
“That changed my life terribly. As it is today, I cannot do anything on my own. I can’t be my own man, it takes me over two hours to prepare in the morning to get out of the house
“I have improvised a lot of things in my house to suit me, I cannot even wear shoes, my legs downwards, a lot of them are not functional. I cannot be alone; I cannot drive a manual car… I cannot do simple things that people are doing for themselves,” he said.
Osewe further noted that the shooting also interfered with his financial status and businesses across the country as he is no longer able to undertake the tasks he would do before.
“I was doing good business, god investment, I got myself some loans… Lying in a hospital for two months and lying in bed for three years without work and you have a loan to service, it has really messed my life,” he narrated.
The businessman was reportedly shot multiple times by businessman Tom Oywa in December 2016 following an argument over a woman believed to be Oywa’s wife.
Oywa has since bee sentenced to 20 years in jail.
“It is not disputed that Mboya shot Osewe. He did so not once but four times…The accused person, being a trained user of firearms, ought to have contemplated the act of shooting in public could have caused injury to the public,” Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha said.
