President Uhuru Kenyatta has blasted his deputy, William Ruto accusing him of abandoning him at a time of need.
Speaking during the Labour Day celebrations at the Nyayo National Stadium, the Head of State said DP Ruto abandoned him forcing him to run government affairs alone.
Uhuru also took issue with DP Ruto for blaming him for the high cost of living. He wondered where the DP has been to help him handle the crisis.
“Instead of coming to help me, you are in the market with insults and calling yourself a number in this nation. You should have let me look for another person who could have helped me,” Uhuru said.
The Head of State thanked ODM leader Raila Odinga for chipping in and helping him despite having other engagements.
“Na ndio mimi nashukuru huyo mzee hata kama alikua na mambo yake alikuja kunisaidia,” he added.
The new development sparked mixed reactions across social media as netizens give their two cents on the same.
@AbedMutai: One thing is crystal clear that the Grace has moved from Saul to David. The grace of numbers and heart of people is with David and Saul can’t get over it. He is bitter.
@Ogetto: It’s too late, you sidelined him and supervised his torture now you begging him for his help! Maliza tu uende.
@CBenjamin1989: But he transferred most of his responsibilities through executive order to Matiangi. How then will you blame him?
@ItheWaWambui: Executive Order No. 1 of 2018 transferred to Matiangi the functions assigned to the DP hitherto. He should collect his toys and go to his room.
