A 24-year-old aspirant from Bomet County has earned praises on social media after winning the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) woman representative ticket.
Linet Chepkorir, commonly known as Toto beat nine aspirants to emerge the top in the highly competitive nominations.
The seat is currently occupied by Joyce Korir.
The new development sparked reactions on social media with netizens congratulating Toto for her achievement, and the UDA party for conducting free and fair nominations.
Salesio Mutwiri: This is great. At least a real ‘hustler’ has appeared in the limelight. This is the kind of defiance Kenyans should have against the politicians who think they are the show stoppers.
Elkanah Koech: Congratulations to her I am happy for her getting nominated she proofs that no matter what if you can dream you can be.
Wako Baba Noordin: Mungu wa mahustler pia halali. Congratulations to Toto and I wish her all the very best of luck as she is going to serve the great people of Kenya with diligence. Your dreams are valid.
Faraj Nyanchonga: Generally Bomet has been choosing peculiarly able leaders all through. Waliacha umama kitambo.
In February 2022, Toto sparked mixed reactions after claiming that she was barred from accessing Deputy President William Ruto’s Karen residence.
Toto noted that she was blocked from the meeting although people whom she had traveled with from Bomet were ushered into the compound.
She later produced her passcode that secured her entry into the heavily guarded residence.
“Eventually, after about an hour, I was allowed into the compound after I showed them my passcode to the meeting, which was electronically generated from the KSh 6,000 payment I had made as registration fee for the session,” Toto said.
