The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has clarified on actor Joseph Kinuthia, alias Omosh’s visit to its headquarters.
In a statement, UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina confirmed the actor’s visit, further disclosing that he has officially joined the Deputy President William Ruto-linked party.
She added that other than registering as a member, Omosh also endorsed the controversial bottom-up economic model saying to will benefit ordinary Kenyans.
“UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina receives Comedian Joseph Kinuthia, better known as Omosh at the party’s headquarters,” the statement read in part.
“Omosh registered as a party member and endorsed Hustler Nation’s bottom-up economic model saying it will lift many ordinary Kenyans out of poverty. He said hardworking Kenyans who lacked opportunities will benefit from the revolutionary economic model.”
This comes at at time when Omosh is facing backlash for offering to sell his three-bedroom house to a woman posing as potential buyer in a viral video.
The woman alongside her crew friends from a popular prank show, the comic gang, planned a meeting with Omosh where they were negotiating the price.
In the video, the pranksters could be heard convincing the thespian to sell the house but he remained hesitant for a while before placing a KSh 17 million price tag to which the woman bargains to KSh 15 million.
At first the pranksters confirm with Omosh if he is willing to give up the house for the money and he says he is okay with selling it as he has all legal documents.
They then concluded that Omosh would receive the KSh 15 million immediately after the formalities are finalised.
Few minutes later, Omosh was shocked after learning that it was only a prank and nothing serious.
