The country’s top newspapers on Thursday, December 9 widely reported on the Kabete police killings where a police officer killed his wife and five civilians on Tuesday morning, December 7.

The dailies also reported on the rescue of three miners who had been trapped in the collapsed Abimbo mine for six days.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has dismissed claims that a student who scored A- in 2007 did not secure a slot in university.

As earlier reported, Milly Nafula had hoped to pursue a medicine course but she did not join any university nor receive any admission letter.

According to the publication, Kabete killer cop, Benson Imbatu calles his mother on Tuesday morning, December 7 at around 1:03am and confessed to killing his fiancé Carol Amakove.

Speaking to the publication, the grieving mother said her efforts to get more information on what he was talking about ended abruptly after Imbatu hanged up and switched off his phone.

“Nimeua Carol, sijui nifanyaje (I have killed Carol and I don’t know what to do),” his mother recounted.

Minutes later at 1:05am, the killer police officer switched on his phone and called his cousin, confessing that he had killed Carol and was in trouble.

When his cousin tried to ask for details, Imbatu hang up and switched off his phone.
