Top Newspaper Headlines for November 24: OKA plot new merger to face Ruto, Raila in 2022

The country’s top newspapers on Wednesday, November 24 widely reported on the 2022 succession politics with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) now planning a merger.

The dailies also reported on DP William Ruto’s tours in Rift Valley which commenced on Tuesday, November 23.

Deputy President William Ruto has promised to fulfill every promise that the Jubilee government will not have fulfilled by the time it leaves office.

Soeakimg recently in Kericho, the DP said that although his boss, Uhuru Kenyatta is retiring, he will still ensure that all stalled projects are completed.

DP Ruto argued that most promises are not fulfilled because some politicians hijacked government projects and inatead pushing their own agendas.

According to the daily, One Kenya Alliance (OKA) recently held a meeting with Mt Kenya Unity Forum in a bid to form a force that will face ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto on the ballot come 2022.

The meetings featured the OKA principals and Mt Kenya politicians led by Speaker Justin Muturi, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua and former Kiambu governor William Kabogo.

OKA brings together ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula and KANU chairman Gideon Moi.

Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has urged Kenyans to remain be keen when using roads amid the rising cases of road accidents.

Oguna urged Kenyans to be vigilant while using the roads this festive season noting that more people had died between January and November than the entire 2020.

A total of 3,340 people died last year from road carnages while this year alone, 4, 023 people had succumbed already.

Recently, Sonko who said his impeachment was unfair has been releasing leaked phone call conversations and tapes to prove that his impeachment was unfair.

“I will broadcast more to my followers. Much more is coming,” he said.

Sonko said he only records corrupt officials adding his close friends and family do not have to worry about him recording their conversations.

According to the Swahili publication, Sirisia MP John Waluke has urged Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka to join DP William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The MP made the statement while urging the Speaker to aim higher in his political career instead of eyeing the Bungoma governor seat.

The Tanga Tanga MP said should Lusaka join Deputy President William Ruto’s camp, he could get a better seat, even a nomination as running mate.
