Reacting to the DP’s recent remarks where he discredited the electoral process, a section of ODM leaders said the DP is seemingly setting stage for a disputed outcome.

Recently, DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party wrote to IEBC questioning Cabinet Secretaries Fred Matiang’i and Joe Mucheru’s involvement in preparation of the 2022 polls.

Daily Nation

The daily reported on ODM leader Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga’s support for her husband’s presidential bid and her relationship with DP William Ruto’s wife, Rachel Ruto.

Speaking in an interview with the daily, Ida maintained that Raila is the best bet for presidency in 2022 further citing his great ideas for the country.

On her husband’s announcement slated for December, Ida said she is anxious about it too and has no idea what her husband will declare on the date.

She also talked about her relationship with first lady Margaret Kenyatta and secondary lady Rachel Ruto.

“Even with Rachel, we would be easy, but I know it won’t be easy for her. The spouse (Ruto) may not allow her to engage with me for obvious political reasons. He may not like it,” she said.

According to the Swahili publication, One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals seem too exhausted to campaign for their 2022 presidential bid.

Unlike their two rivals in the presidential race, DP William Ruto and Raila Odinga have been touring the country to sell their agenda.

The last time the OKA principals were spotted campaigning in public was on October 31 when they, on a rare occasion, brought Githurai to a total standstill.

OKA brings together Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) and Gideon Moi (KANU).

According to the daily, Deputy President William Ruto has hit out at ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Ruto said the BBI was a mega fraud that was aimed at altering the constitution to create an imperial presidency.

Speaking during the first day of his Kisumu tour, the DP noted Nyanza region was still lagging behind in development because of a lack of political goodwill.

He championed his bottom-up economic agenda which he said has a bag of goodies for the Nyanza people should he become president in 2022.
