Even though you have to make your facial skin as much attractive as you want, you should be keen on what products you apply.

There are umpteen beauty hacks for a radiant face in which some provide instant results can prove to be detrimental in the long run.

Some might opt to use natural home products and well some work pretty well while others are not safe for use.

Body Lotion

In most cases, when people run out of regular face cream, they decide to use body lotion which might cause negative effects as body lotion is not good on delicate skin.

Body lotion is always thicker and greasier and so it’s oily texture clog facial skin pores and cause an acne breakout.

Body lotions also has artificial fragrances that may lead to an allergic reaction.


Toothpaste is for teeth! Most people believe that toothpaste is best remedy to getting rid of blackheads and zits.

But that is not the case as experts say that applying toothpaste on the facial skin can lead to burns and even infections.

Toothpaste also has strong ingredients which can irritate your skin,turning pimples into red spots.

Baking soda

Baking soda is easy to find as it locally available and again it’s a versatile product used for many things.

And because its a versatile product, you may have at one time used it on your face to cure acnes. That’s wrong.

Baking soda is alkaline in nature and may cost your skin, its pH balance. The pH level is important in our facial skin for as it secures it from bacteria and infectious pathogens.

If the pH level is disturbed, one may get breakouts.


This product was specifically made to assist people in growth of their hair and it’s health.

If one uses it on their face, they they would suffer from facial skin irritation because the Mayonnaise clogged the face skin’s pores.

Hair sprays

Hair sprays should always keep off from your face as it can highly damage it. Hair spray has alcohol in it which decreases the skin’s moisture level.

This will then make your skin dry, dull and look aged over some time. Apart from this, the hair spray has other chemicals, which may irritate the skin, and also lead to rashes.
