The first rising Kenyan YouTuber Thee Pluto, born Robert Ndegwa, left his fans puzzled after cutting off his signature dreadlocks which he had maintained since 2016.
After shaving, the 22-year-old affluent entrepreneur took to his social media to flaunt his new look, where he had short brown dyed hair.
In a question and answer session on his Instagram, the heart-throb millionaire who is popular for his popular show dubbed Thee Pluto Show where he exposes cheating partners, detailed why he settled to do away with his dreads.
Thee Pluto explained that he was influenced to shave by several factors but the most important of them was a KSh 1 million dare from his friend.
“Several factors pushed me to cut my locks. They include rebranding and craving a change but ultimately and most importantly it was a KSh 1 million dare from a friend,” he explained.
In a subsequent interview, the businessman disclosed that it was the Nairobi woman representative aspirant in the August polls Wangui Ng’angá who dared him.
The two have been spotted together on several occasions and he insisted that they are just good friends.
Thee Pluto said Ng’angá will offer him the cash on Saturday, March 26.
His dare elicited varied reactions on social media.
Jane Omambia said: “Can I get that 1million for my dreadlocks? Kumbe natembea na 1M on my head? Kindly I need a market for my dreadlocks.”
Rose kelly said: “Where do I get such friends, I am willing to shave each part of my body that has got hair.”
Jyen Gartyyz said: “My friends should see the kind of dares other friends are daring their friends.”
Lilian Wayua said: “Does it mean all my friends are broke? They can’t even dare me with food leave alone cash, they know am a crazy one.”
Robz Brayo said: Pride comes before a fall. Am not saying he will fall but what people don’t know cant destroy it. Private is key to success.
