A student who may have reasoned that his talents lay
elsewhere other than in academics and decided to follow up the matter with a
letter to his headmaster has shocked the world.
The high school student from Tanzania recently sparked reactions after writing a letter to his school principal informing him of his decision to quit school.
In the handwritten letter, the Form One student from Msimbati High School said he was quitting school to pursue his passion, fishing.
Taufiq Salum Hamis explained that he made the decision by himself and he was not under duress from anyone, terming the move best for him.
“I can no longer do school anymore and I do not want to study again. I have decided on my accord without duress from any person that I do not want to study again. I do not have ill intentions,” Hamis noted in the letter.
Simon Lenkai: He simply needs sound advice. All kids go through this stage in life.
Vivy Otieno: The parents should accept his decision coz they don’t know what the boy is up to when they can’t allow him to.
Sylvia Kadiara: That boy needs guidance and counseling. Mr principal take time and talk to the boy in a good way maybe he is having a problem but he has no one to tell.
Lucy Babra: And the day he will need to go back to continue with his studies, let his interests be put to consideration.
