In 2017, a 22-year-old student was arrested on federal computer-hacking charges after he allegedly obtained advanced copies of tests, and changed grades for himself and his classmates.

According to the FBI, he installed devices known as keyloggers in computers in university classrooms to access professors’ credentials to university grading and email systems, according to the FBI.

He was then able to access professors’ accounts and procure exams and test questions in advance.

He also used the system to repeatedly change other students’ grades on tests, quizzes, and homework assignments.

He manipulated his grades more than 90 times over a 21-month period and also repeatedly changed the grades of at least five other students.
