After receiving the vaccine, Shaffie said that he felt like a Russian noting that he needed to be healthy ahead of a court battle between him and his former employer.

This came barely a day after Shaffie threatened to sue Radio Africa Group over what he termed as an unfair and unlawful dismissal.

Through NMA Advocates, the presenter gave his former employer one week to pay him KSh 21.1 million for the unfair termination.

The aforementioned amount was from Shaffie’s entitlements while working at the radio station including his full salary and allowances.

He demanded to be paid KSh 682,500 which is his gross monthly salary, thus 12 months salary of KSh 8.1 million and gratuity KSh 682,500 for every year of service total to KSh 21.1 million.

However, Radio Africa group on Wednesday, March 31 countersued Shaffie demanding KSh 150 million in damages.

In a statement, the company said its decision to sue the radio host follows severe gross misconduct and controversial remarks made on air.

RAG argued that Shaffie has to compensate them for business loss and damage reputation caused by his comments against women about a week ago.

The company demanded KSh 150 million for all the damages he has caused the group saying his actions were unconscionable.

“His actions were unconscionable and amount to severe gross misconduct. He should have known better having been in the media industry for 18 years and receiving continuous training on media regulators’ programming codes, broadcasting regulations and codes of conduct and ethics,” the company stated.
