Fresh details have emerged on the death of Samuel Mugota who was shot dead in Mirema Springs area, Nairobi County.
Days after his shocking murder, it has emerged that the deceased was under probe over his alleged involvement in criminal activities.
According to a police officer privy to the case, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had arrested the man and charged in a court of law.
It is said that he headed a syndicate which would spike revellers’ drinks before stealing from them.
“The man headed a big syndicate that mostly involved women, who would be used to spike revellers’ drinks before stealing from the customers,” the officer was quoted by TUKO.
As earlier reported on GOTTA.news, a CCTV footage showed how the deceased was ambushed and shot dead.
Mugota was attacked and shot dead shortly after dropping a woman and her child in the area.
According to a CCTV footage widely shared on social media, the assailant is seen walking on the footpath where Mugota would be later killed.
The assailant is seen walking with a man believed to be his accomplice but he later disappeared as the latter continued to talk on his phone.
A few minutes later, a Toyota Premio appeared and blocked the way as Mugota’s car, a Honda CRV, drove towards the assailant.
The killer walked towards Mugota’s car, unleashed a gun and shot the driver four times.
