Royal Media Services reporter Victor Kinuthia speaks after being trolled for reporting in broken English

Royal Media Services reporter Victor Kinuthia says he almost gave up after it dawned on him he was trending over a live reporting he had done about Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro’s arrest.

Kinuthia was bashed by netizens for struggling to express himself in fluent English when reporting the incident live from Murang’a on the evening of Monday, September 9.

In a brief Facebook post on Tuesday, September 10, Kinuthia who is a full time Gikuyu reporter attached to Citizen TV sister station Inooro TV, admitted that the trolling made him feel like quitting.

He however said the encouragement from his senior colleagues gave him courage to continue.

“I almost gave up when I found myself trending all over after yesterday’s 9 pm news. But after receiving calls and texts from my bosses, colleagues, friends and fans I must say am encouraged,” wrote Kinuthia.

As was the bashing, hundreds of Kenyans stepped forward to comfort the reporter urging him to use the bashing the stepping stone to soar greater heights.

Kenyans on Twitter, popularly known as KOT tore on Kinuthia poking fun at his mix up of tenses and jumbled reporting.

However, it seems the budding reporter is in good company going by the messages of encouragement from his colleagues following the mix up.

How great to enjoy support of editorial boss Joe Ageyo.
