Raila, Uhuru BBI is ‘rich boys’ ploy to remain in power – MP Moha Jicho pevu

Nyali MP Mohamed Ali popularly known as Moha Jicho Pevu has asked Kenyans to reject the proposal to expand the government fronted by supporters of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Speaking in Nyali Saturday, August 31, Moha dismissed BBI supporters’ proposal to expand the executive to create a more inclusive government saying such a move would be tantamount to creating a bigger plate for the rich to continue impoverishing the poor.

Proponents of BBI are rooting for a more expanded government that includes a prime minister’s position and two deputies.

“ They are proposing changes to expand the executive not forgetting that the taxpayer is already overburdened,” he said.

The MP further dismissed calls to amend the constitution saying country’s biggest problem lay in bad leadership.

“ Don’t be fooled that the constitution is bad and needs to be amended. The truth is Kenya has one of the most progressive constitutions in the world. The country’s biggest problem is bad leadership,” said the MP.

He said BBI was the dynasty boys plan to ensure leadership remained among some wealthy individuals who had no concern for the common man.

The BBI task force was formed after the March 9 2018 handshake between President Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The task force has so far finished gathering views on ethnicity, inclusivity, security, shared responsibility and rights and is expected to release a report in less than two months.
