Prof Hamo fired from Hot 96, replacement revealed

Popular Kenyan comic Herman Gakobo Kago, alias Prof Hamo has been fired from Royal Media Services (RMS)-owned radio station Hot 96.

Confirming the new development, sources privy to the matter said the comedian was fired about a week ago, with other sources saying that he resigned days before the deadbeat father scandal.

Also, reports indicated that Hamo had crossed paths with some of his seniors at RMS who accused him of indiscipline.

His position at Hot 96 is now being temporarily occupied by the station’s Deputy Manager, Clyde Katiba, who will continue to Co-Host the Morning Drive show with Jeff Koinange.

About a week ago, Hamo was accused of neglecting his baby mama, Stella Koitie, alia Jemutai and their kids after which she responded saying that he has been providing for Jemutai and their kids.

The presenter added that his wife, only identified as Mama Melissa, has been sending money to Jemutai for upkeep.

“I have children who live with me and others who don’t live with me. I have been providing for my children from day one and there’s no day they went without food or shelter or anything they need,” said Hamo.

He added;

“My wife is the one who sends upkeep for the children who don’t live with us. This has been the agreement between my family and the mother of the children.”

However, Jemutai fired back at her alleged baby daddy dismissing claims that he has been taking care of their children.

The comic termed Hamo a liar, saying she has received only KSh 9,000 from his wife since 2020.

“It’s on a Sunday for heaven sake. Why are we lying, the last time Hamo paid rent was last year October and from then he refused to pick the caretaker calls,” said Jemutai.

“I respect Mama Mellisa (Hamo’s wife) so much but since you’ve decided we drag her into this, the only money she has ever sent me is KSh 9,000 in total,” she added.
