Police Now Say Gachoki Was Get-away Driver in Slain Thug Samuel Muvota’s Murder

The police have now claimed that Dennis Gachoki Karani who was said to be the mastermind of slain thug Samuel Mugo Muvota drove away the getaway car during the shooting incident.

A police investigator told the court that Gachoki drove the killer to and from the murder scene using a private car that blocked Mugo’s way during the shooting incident.

“We urge court to take judicial notice of the video clip circulating online where the gunman is seen running towards a waiting car

“The Respondent (Gachoki) is the person who was behind the car,” Corporal Kapario Lekakeny told the court.

According to a CCTV footage of the incident, the assailant could be seen walking on the footpath where Mugo would be later killed.

The assailant walked with a man believed to be his accomplice but he later disappeared as the latter continued to talk on his phone.

A few minutes later, a Toyota Premio appeared and blocked the way as Mugo’s car, a Honda CRV, drove towards the assailant.

The killer walked towards Mugo’s car, unleashed a gun and shot the driver four times.

He then ran to the car which sped off.

This comes even as Gachoki maintained his innocence saying he only met the deceased thug twice; in Meru and Nairobi.

Gachoki presented himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday, May 23, three days after detectives launched a manhunt for him.

“I knew  him but I had never had his contact. I got to know him in 2018 during a wedding ceremony in Meru. A friend of mine introduced me to Muvota. After wedding, we used same vehicle back to Nairobi
