In 2021, the 16-year-old’s family suffered a major loss when bandits attacked them and made away with their herd of cattle, which was their only hope.

In the incident, the bandits killed Amurio’s elder brother who was their breadwinner.

After the young boy posted great results in his national exams, his family friend Kristof Anam took to social media imploring well-wishers to come to Amurio’s rescue so that he can further his education and realise his dreams.

As fate could have it, the well-wishers responded to the call for help enabling the young man to join the national school.

The photos elicited emotional reactions on social media.

Willy Onyiego said: “This boy has a very bright future ahead of him. No man is limited for sure.”

Githuka Wainaina said: “May he be the one. Poverty has a way of shaming even the most hard-hearted. May he be the one.”

Joseph K Salem said: “A little spark of kindness can put a colossal burst of sunshine in someone’s life. May God bless all those who stood in support of this young man.”
