Nairobi Member of County Assembly (MCA) Peter Imwatok has warmed the hearts of many after gifting her mother a KSh 5 million house on her birthday.
The Makongeni MCA noted that the house in Teso, Busia County is a token of appreciation for nurturing him and making him who he is today.
“Yeah this is my small gift for her she has made me who I am today and I must appreciate her,” Imwatok said.
Imwatok said things have been difficult for this family but through his mother’s hard work and determination they are now in a position to lead a comfortable life.
The politician disclosed that he worked as a security officer to pay for his fees before venturing into business and later politics.
In 2007, Imwatok vied for the Makongeni ward MCA and lost, but his mother advised him not to lose hope.
“My political journey has been a tough one. I lost in 2007 and didn’t secure an ODM ticket, but my mother was there for me and supported me fully. I must appreciate this,” he added.
Five years later, Imwatok went for another try and won the elections after which he was reelected in 2017 for his second term.
