Pakistan’s small town, Sialkot, is popularly known for producing soccer balls. Every year the factories in the town produce over 60 million balls which is roughly over 40 per cent of the world’s total production.

The late Abdus Salam and Malala Yousafzai have won the Nobel Peace Prizes. Salam won the nobel prize in the year 1979 for his participation in electroweak unification theory.
Malala made history after becoming the world’s youngest nobel prize winner in 2014. She was on only 17. Malala defiled the Taliban and fought for the rights of every child to receive equal eduction in Pakistan. The Taliban then issued a death threat to her. When she was 15 she was shot in the head by a Taliban gangman but survived and became even more outspoken activist for every children to have access to education.

World’s second highest mountain the Killer K2 or the Godwin Austin is found in Pakistan. Pakistanis call it Dapsang or Chogori, Mount Godwin-Austen in English and Qogir Fengin Chinese. The mountain measures 8,611 metres high. The world’s highest mountain in the world is Mt. Everest which measures 8,849 mstress high.
World’s largest ambulance network.
Pakistan’s Edhi Foundation has been listed in the Guinness world record book since 1997 as the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service. The foundations headquarters are in Karachi. Apart from operating 24 hours emergency ambulance service, They also provide shelter, free health care and free drugs for the needy. The foundation was started by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi as a single room shelter before upgrading.
World’s first Islamic country to attain nuclear power.
Pakistan is the world’s first muslim country to construct and operate civil nuclear power plants.
Benazir Bhutto was the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan and also of any Muslim nation. She served from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996. Unfortunately she was assassinated in 2007.
Pakistans flag symbolizes progress and light and was adopted in August 1947. It’s green background represents the majority Islams in the country while the white stripe on the side represents the religious minorities in the country. The white crescent moon symbolizes progress while the five stars represents light.
Pakistan lies to the north-west of India and neighbours China, Afghanistan and Iran. Modern humans are believed to have occupied Pakistan more than 73,000 years ago, styles and started farming and pastoralism. The country gained independence from Britain in 1947. Pakistan got it’s first president since independence in 1956, Iskander Mirza. The country has gotten 12 more president after Iskander Mirza.
According to countrystudies, Pakistan’s estimated population was 207,774,520 in August 2017 making it the fifth most populous country in the world. The country’s population growth has been rated among the world’s highest with a rough estimation of 3.1 percent per year.
Pakistan has over 15 major ethnic groups; the Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns, Kashmiris, Hazaras, Makranis and Baltis which all differ in physical features, historical bloodlines, customs, dress, food and music. Other than that, Since AD 700 Islam has had a great impact to the Pakistani culture. The name Pakistan means ‘land of the pure’ in Persian and Urdu.
