Comedian and media personality Oga Obinna recently disclosed that he suffered from depression and considered taking his own life twice.
In a lengthy social media, the comic disclosed that he contemplated suicide because things were not working out in his life.
Obinna urged his followers not to consider suicide, arguing that it would not solve anything but instead cause suffering and pain to loved ones.
“You will have pressure and be stressed or even depressed. Like me you might opt for the easier way out. suicide. Don’t do it, you will allow them to win,” he said.
“I tried suicide twice when nothing was working out – I repeat don’t even think in this direction, it will not only not solve anything but cause a lot of pain and suffering to those who love you.”
The father of five also advised his followers to spread positivity and preach hope, noting that it is port at as it provides lessons that amount to success.
“It’s good to have hope however always remember hope is not a strategy. Get up and do it, the worst that will happen is that it will fail and you will have learnt a lesson on what to improve,” Obinna added.
This comes two months after disclosing how he lost KSh 68,000 to conmen who promised to double his money and make him rich.
Speaking during an interview with Jalang’o on his Bonga Na Jalas YouTube series, Obinna narrated how the scheme that involved people he knew from his childhood was executed.
At the time, the comedian was working as an errand boy and he was tasked to run some errands on that fateful night, and his then-boss had given him KSh 70,000.
“So, this time we were living like seven guys. A guy called Sammy found me at a disco matanga. I did not have a place to stay, and he asked me to stay with them
“I went home with Sh68,000. My brother saw the money and told me, ‘by tomorrow you will be rich, let me show you.’ So, he called our childhood friend who came with two more guys and they were like, ‘let us show you how to make money’,” he narrated.
