A supercentenarian woman named Elizabeth Jerop Cheribo from Nandi county has recently shared her secrets to long life.
The 111-year-old grandmother is still has was born in the colonial era untill the country got it’s independence.
Jerop has lived to see the country’s four presidents and moreso participated in the elections.
While revealing her secrets behind her long life, she said going to church, drinking Kalenjin traditional milk called mursik and eating ugali is what has kept her strong all those years.
“I always eat ugali and mursik and other traditional vegetables such as cowpeas,” She told NTV
She is also a mother of three girls and one boy who also are grown men and women. Her firstborn Mary Jemeli is 95-year-old.
Jerop also revealed that long ago she work at a mzungu firm something that helped her prowess in Swahili language.
The granny also said that a lot had changed in terms of technology among others. According to her, when she was a youth she knew nothing about phones unlike youths of today.
