A university student has been arrested for selling fake Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) exam papers.
Oscar Brighton, a third-year Economics student at Zetech University, was nabbed on Thursday, March 10, by undercover agents attached to the Kenya National Examination council.
At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of fake printed examination papers and others stored in his mobile phone.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives said the suspect had created several WhatsApp groups where he asked candidates to pay between KSh 1,600 for Humanities and KSh 2,600 for Sciences examinations.
He was the admin of two groups which had a total of 72 participants.
Detectives said Brighton is a serial offender and will be charged with contravening section 28 of the National Examination malpractices Act 29, 2012.
