Mzee Jackson Kibor: Veteran Uasin Gishu ex-politician makes surprising move, gets baptised

Controversial Uasin Gishu ex-politician and renowned farmer Mzee Jackson Kibor was on Monday, May 3 baptised in Eldoret.

The brief exercise was presided over by retired African Inland Church (AIC) Bishop Silas Yego at Boma Inn’s Hotel swimming pool.

Speaking to TUKO, Kibor’s daughter, Loice Chemeli said theu were happy to finally see their father choose the ways of the Lord.

“It is true. We are happy that he has chosen this path. We never got tired of praying for him. He has calmed down and we are thankful to God,” she said.

In a video seen by, Kibor was immersed in water once by Yego with the aid of two clergymen after short prayers.

After the event, the retired politician drove to his home for a brief ceremony.

In October 2020, Kibor made peace with his wives and children over distribution of his vast wealth.

Speaking at the time, the famous Uasin Gishu farmer said his past was horrible but he never regrets for it made him who he is today.

“My background was horrible but that is in the past and I have no regrets because that life made me who I am today,” Kibor said.

The 86-year-old retired politician also mentioned that he is ready to die as he has seen it all in life.

The energetic old man asked his family to remain patient adding that he will share his wealth as he wishes before his death.

“I will only give them wealth as I wish,” he said.
