A woman from Murang’a County is on the run after reportedly stabbing her two children.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), one of the two children died while the other is nursing injuries in hospital.
The two are two and four years respectively.
The DCI reported that the 21-year-old woman identified as Nancy Munjiro who worked as a house help in Kahuro is said to have stabbed her children at her mother’s house.
“What the kids’ grandmother hoped would be a precious bonding moment between mother and sons as she stepped out of her house in the morning, turned to be the darkest day of her life
“She only came back to find her house turned into a murder scene, her grandchildren soaked in blood and sprawled on the floor,” DCI statement reads.
The woman is suspected to have attempted to commit suicide after the incident.
“Police who visited the scene also found a rope hanging from the roof, suspecting that the perpetrator might have attempted suicide before opting for her heels,” DCI added in the statement.
