Mudavadi Asks Uhuru , Raila to Refund Cash Used on BBI after Flop

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the ruling by the High Court and the Court of Appeal to annul the Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2020 popularly known as the Building Bridges Initiative.

During the Thursday, March 31, session, the apex court led by Chief Justice Martha Koome declared the bill unconstitutional, null and void.

Speaking immediately after the decision, Mudavadi lauded the courts for stopping the process, which he claimed was wasting Kenyans’ time and resources.

He, in turn, asked the promoters of the report, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, to refund close to KSh 20 billion taxpayers money which he claimed was channelled to the process.

“I appreciate the Supreme Court for stopping the BBI which was all conmanship. The BBI proponents for close to four years have used over 20 billion to popularise it. We need public money that has been used on BBI which has flopped to be refunded,” said Mudavadi.

The Kenya Kwanza co-principal further claimed the same way public money was used to fund the private BBI process is the same way the government is using taxpayers’ money to fund Raila’s presidential campaigns.

“BBI is a lesson because we have seen how they have used public money to promote it and it is the same way they are using public funds to sponsor Azimio la Umoja and Raila’s campaigns,” he added.

Should the Kenya Kwanza team, which comprises Deputy President William Ruto, take over the government, Mudavadi vowed to bring to book all those that signed off public funds to finance projects that do not benefit Kenyans.

Kenyans expressed varied reactions to Mudavadi’s proposals.

Laxious Alusiola said: “You are not only lazy but a real chameleon. You signed this deal Mudavadi.”

Benard Ronald said: “Yet u signed BBI and supported it, the most confused politician and new watermelon in town.”

Morphat Odongo said: “Is this Mudavadi who signed the document hehe”

Richard Ndemo said: ” MDVD you signed and supported BBI, were you mad when signing. Enjoy your 300 million from Ruto.”
