Mother of slain Kitengela brothers speaks, denies they were criminals

Lucy Wanjiru, the mother of two brothers killed in Kitengela, Kajiado county by angry mob in mistaken identity has finally spoken demanding for justice.

The two boys Freddie Wanjiru, 30, and Victor Wanjiru, 25, were killed alongside their cousins Mike George, 29, and Nicholas Musa, 28, after they were mistook of livestock thieves.

Their mother, who landed in Kenya from the United Kingdom on Sunday, August 15 was filled with emotions while stating her son’s were not criminals.

Wanjiru revealed that the boys were raised in a Christian family and were active church members and actually two days before they were lynched they were to meet their pastor

“I would love justice to be served because my children were not criminals. I have raised them on a Christian foundation,” said Wanjiru.

Wanjiru also narrated that tried reaching them on phone on Sunday, August 8 but her efforts were futile.

Wanjiru quickly informed the pastor and he said he had spoken to them on Saturday, August 7 and planned a meet up on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday Wanjiru received the sad news of her son’s passing.

While landing in Kenya from the UK Wanjiru broke down into tears and could not contain herself anymore.

Wanjiru was comforted by other relatives who had arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to receive her.

The two brother will be on Friday, August 20 at their rural home in Karamton Nyandarua county. The late brothers were Wanjiru’s only children.
