Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has announced plans to contest for the Kiambu County gubernatorial seat in the August 9 General Elections.
The lawmaker announced his plans to contest for the county’s top seat in a Facebook post on Saturday, February 26.
“The voice of the people is the voice of God. So help me God. Under your wings I feel safe,” Kuria wrote.
Kuria had earlier stated that he would not be defending his parliamentary seat in the forthcoming elections.
“I think I have served the people of Gatundu South for a solid nine years, and I’m proud of the job I have done there
“As of now, my single focus is to build a strong party that is going to assure a lot of people who are currently not very assured,” he said.
This comes a week after Kuria admitted that he was still undecided on which presidential contender to support in the August polls, adding that both Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja were formed while he was ill.
“Personally, Kenya Kwanza was formed while I was in a hospital bed and so was Azimio, I will be crazy to say that I support things that were formed while I was ill. I just get anecdotes of what they stand for, I don’t understand them and I need time,” he said.
