Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has announced that he will not be defending his seat in the August 9 General Elections.
Speaking on Citizen TV, the mercurial lawmaker stated that he will instead focus on promoting his party, Chama Cha Kazi across the country, further noting that he was contented with the time he has served his electorate.
“I think I have served the people of Gatundu South for a solid nine years, and I’m proud of the job I have done there
“As of now, my single focus is to build a strong party that is going to assure a lot of people who are currently not very assured,” he said.
Kuria also stated that he was still undecided on which presidential contender to support in the August polls, adding that both Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio La Umoja were formed while he was ill.
“Personally, Kenya Kwanza was formed while I was in a hospital bed and so was Azimio, I will be crazy to say that I support things that were formed while I was ill. I just get anecdotes of what they stand for, I don’t understand them and I need time,” he said.
At the same time, the MP invited all presidential candidates to his thanksgiving rally to be held at Thika Stadium on Saturday, February 19.
“I have invited everybody, I have invited all the presidential candidates. My duty is to invite, their duty is to attend; I cannot tell you who is going to attend and who is not going to,” he said.
