Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru on Tuesday, April 12 sparked mixed reactions after confusing Deputy President William Ruto for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The Kenya Kwanza Alliance held a coalition agreement signing ceremony at the Ngong Racecourse in an event graced by leaders including co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.
Waiguru was invited to address the audience and in an apparent slip of the tongue, she termed DP Ruto the leader of Azimio la Umoja leader.
“Your excellency, the deputy president of the Republic of Kenya and the party leader of UDA and the leader of the Azimio Alliance,” said Waiguru.
However, the county boss realised her mistake and quickly clarified that she made the utterance because she was thinking of how to hit out at Azimio.
“Sorry, oh my goodness and the party leader of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, my sincere apologies because I was thinking of what I will say about them,” Waiguru said.
The new development has sparked reactions across social media with netizens noting that her heart is still in Azimio.
Yusuf Isongo: It’s normal. This election is causing sleepless nights for all politicians.
Jacktome Achieng: Waiguru is just telling those who care to listen that after Azimio One Kenya alliance has put Ruto on the first wheelbarrow flight to Sugoi on 9th August very early in the morning, she will be working with Azimio government.
Mohamed Saikong: No weapon formed against you shall prosper. The good thing about your enemies, they will never forgets about you in every conversation they. Baba the 5th.
John Theuri: Its well known where her heart was before the ground forced her to reluctantly shift both camps have such individuals.
