Mixed Reactions as Harmonize’s New Song Surpasses 1 Million Views in 24 Seconds

Bongo star Hamonize sparked a debate across social media on Wednesday, April 13 after his new song broke a YouTube record.

The song dubbed Mdomo garnered 1.3 million views on YouTube, 24 seconds after its release.

However, it did not make sense to a section of netizens that a song, especially in Africa, could gather such viewers in less than a minute.

Netizens accused Harmonize and his management of paying for viewing bots to add views to the videos triggering a response from Harmonize.

“They don’t value hardworking, they never appreciate your talent. Listen, my people, tell dem this is our time, we are used to them. The most important thing is we have set a history,” the singer said.

On the other hand, Harmonize’s spokesperson Mwijaku argued that the musician is a big brand and he can easily attract such numbers.

“If it’s easy to generate the views, why don’t you also do? This is a big artiste even if he uploads a video of him scratching his armpit, it will still get a lot of views,” he argued.

A section of netizens disputed Harmonize’s ability to attract such numbers while others supported him.

@kerubo_hillary: Hiyo ngoma ya Harmonize had 1.3M views in 24 seconds. 12 hours later the video is stuck at 1.5M views. They forgot to keep playing the game.
