Kisii gospel musician Chris Musioma, popularly known as Embarambamba made it to the trending tab on Monday night, May 24 after a video of him ‘dirty’ dancing went viral online.
In the clip, the singer grind on a lady who was in a compromising position on the floor, as he performed in a place believed to be a nightclub.
Embarambamba engaged the lady in the dance amid wild cheers from his fans.
The video elicited mixed reactions from netizens with Kenya Films and Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua terming the video gross.
“Embarambamba, that was gross. You crossed the line,” wrote Mutua.
Jose Katumbinde: Embarabamba is okay. The problem is not him, the problem is Kenyan society’s attitude towards gospel music. What embarambamba did is the true definition of gospel music In Kenya. Some gospel artists are far much worse only that we don’t get to know about them
Simba Joseph: Embarambamba was presenting an item from a club, where ladies dance while naked, he was not in the church. He was targeting his audience in the club .
Kelvin Omondi: Does Mutua think it’s easy to get attention of frustrated bitter Kenyans? Embarambara said he is doing everything due to piverty, why not give him a better job?
Kwamboka Mokeira: This one I fully agree with Ezekiel Mutua. Embarambara crossed the line. That was gross
Kaka: This is embarrassing Sir! We’ve been saying that this wizard should be stopped but you kept silent. Did you have to wait for this to happen? Embarambamba is a mental case who needs to be locked up either at Mathari mental hospital or in prison. Kindly do your job and spare
Listet Nyaringo: Thanks Ndugu for being a voice of reason towards building a moral society. Without people like you, Kenya will go to the dogs and the future will be bleak to our children and the children of our children. Never seen gospel music done the way Embarambamba does. Pepo mbaya
